Shiney Row Male Voice Choir (SRMVC) is a choir of four sections namely 1st Tenor, 2nd Tenor, Baritone and Bass. We, as are motto states, ‘rejoice in singing’ this we do not only for our own pleasure but also that of our many and various audiences both within the community and at prestigious events. As a friendly group of 'non professional' like-minded singers we consider ourselves approachable should you decide to apply for membership.
Our song repertoire is varied, entertaining and regularly updated and, although the Choir does not enter competitions, we take pride in our performances and constantly strive to sing well. To achieve this we endeavour to rehearse, under the direction of our Musical Director (MD) who is ably supported by our accompanist, every Friday from 7 to 9pm at St Aidan's Parish Centre, New Herrington, DH4 7LZ between September and June.
To join you do not have to be able to read music, or have previous experience of singing in a choir. What we are looking for is your enjoyment of singing and eagerness to join and sing with us.
If you like singing, are male, and are interested in becoming a choir member then please complete the 'Join Us' form to the right, with as much information as possible. Our Secretary will make contact and take it from there. As stated above we rehearse on a Friday night so please come along to meet the choir and experience what we sing and do, we will make you most welcome.
